Tonight I went out to a hockey game, so I thought that I would dress up. I wore this adorable 1960's dress and jacket set by Irving Korny. I found it a few days ago at a thrift store and immediately fell in love. It wasn't badly priced either, at only $7.
Sometimes it can be really fun going out dressed in vintage head to toe. Tonight I went to a local hockey game, a hobby of mine. I wore this there and sometimes it was hilarious to see people's reactions. Most of the time people do enjoy what I wear, though there have been a few unimpressed stares, mainly from younger women. I do have to say though, that most elderly people do enjoy seeing me dress like this on a regular basis.
The accessories I am wearing are a 1950's velvet hat and three bracelets all from a thrift store. Sadly the bracelets aren't Bakelite but I like them anyways. They actually can fit onto my wrists, which is surprising because vintage jewelry usually doesn't. I do wish I had some Bakelite in my collection that actually fit me. One day I suppose!
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day!
I love your new outfits. You look especially adorable in your blue sweater and peddle pushers. I have a hard time finding bakelite bangles and also gloves that fit my hands. It's one of the burdens of being 5' 10" and loving vintage.

DeleteI am the exact same, I only have a few pairs of gloves because they're always so tiny. The main problem for me though is finding shoes, I am a size 11. It's hard enough to find non vintage shoes in my size haha.
What a fabulous dress! Your hat is wonderful too :) I also live on the Canadian prairies and get very similar reactions that you do, especially when I go back to my small town in West-Central Saskatchewan.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliments. I love your blog by the way. <3
DeleteBeautiful! I love the dress and the hat and you look fabulous in them. I love it even more knowing you went to a hockey game in it. Why not do something you love while looking FABULOUS?!
